Decompression outcome

This is a case I treated 1 year ago. It was a “thru and thru”, so I was really not sure how successful¬† treatment would be.

I started with non-surgical endodontics, two visits with CaOH. Pt still returned about 6 weeks later with another buccal swelling. I completed the RCT then and started the decompression with 4-6 weeks rinsing with saline.

Pt was in last week for a follow up and I was surprised to see the bone regeneration on both buccal and palatal cortical plates.  My experience with large lesions is that they can take longer than a 2 yr span and as long as he remains completely asymptomatic, we will keep checking on the progress.
