The Endodontic Triad Myth

[post-views]

We actually don’t know why cases are successful. We don’t know what is suffiencient and necessary for disease to occur. We appear to know that microorganisms are necessary, but unless you know both what is suffiecient AND necessary, you can’t possibly claim you know what causes a disease or claim you know what cures a disease. Our model is actually a house of cards.

@CB: How does one determine a solution without experimentation? BTW, your post is pretty sloppy from a grammatical standpoint, along with issues in capitalization and punctuation.

The acknowledgment of uncertainty in identifying sufficient and necessary conditions for diseases highlights the complexity of endodontic cases. Carrs analogy of a house of cards calls for a more nuanced exploration of factors influencing disease outcomes.

That’s a really thought-provoking perspective! While we’ve made huge advancements in understanding diseases and their causes, there’s still so much we don’t fully grasp. The idea that microorganisms are necessary but not always sufficient makes sense—there are so many factors at play, like genetics, environment, and immune response. Medicine is constantly evolving, and it’s humbling to realize how much we’re still uncovering. It really does make you question the foundation of certain medical assumptions!
