Adding Referring Doctor Information

To add referring doctors into TDO:

– Click the Main tab, Doctors, Referring Doctors.
– Click ‘Add new doctor’.
– The required fields include “Last Name” and “First Name.”
– Select the appropriate dial on top left for Referring, General, or Both for the doctor you entered.
– Select “Referring” if the doctor refers patients but is not a general dentist, for example, a Surgeon or Periodontist.
– Select “Both” if the doctor is a general dentist who also refers patients to you. Both is the default setting.
– Enter the doctor’s preferred contact under the Email Addresses section.
– You can add more than one email.
– TDO allows referring doctors to be linked to a practice.
– This can be helpful if you have multiple referring doctors that belong to the same practice.
– This is optional and can be set up later on.


When you are ready to add practices to TDO:

– Click on the Practices Tab at the top right, then click add.
– Enter Practice details such as Practice Name and address.
– After adding the practice information, click save.
– To link a referring doctor to a practice: Highlight the practice at the top left from the Practice List and click the “select” button. The referring doctor is now linked.
– To link another doctor: Search for the doctor, then under the practice tab click add, and select the practice name from the left side.
– Click select; the doctor will now be linked to the practice.
– Click add to go back to the practice area; you will see both doctors under the practice.
– Click the arrow with the asterisk at the bottom left to add additional practices.
– Close to save your changes!
– The main reason for linking referring doctors to a practice is the referring doctor portal.
– All doctors under the practice will have access to patients’ information.
– TDO also has a report you can run by practice, showing combined production.
– It is recommended to enter the referring doctors first; practices can be created later.
